The Ballet Company is a non-profit organization formed in November of 2006. Our mission statement is: “To provide quality pre-professional ballet training in a nurturing environment, encouraging personal accomplishment and a life-long appreciation of dance.” From the inspiration and personal dream of Choreographer, Director, Dance Studio
Owner, Patty Petersen’s love of ballet and more so from the Historic Ballet of The Nutcracker, with additional local supporters, the local Ballet Company was created. Later, Ballet Forest Grove was approved and qualified as a Non-Profit Organization as is still the current status.
There are No paid board members. All funding is used 100% to support the following events; Nutcracker, the Young Choreographer Showcase and the Anna & Abby Dance Scholarship.
The Company levels have grown to currently be; Premier, Senior, Junior, Aspirant, and Apprentice. Ballet students are comprised from various local communities including but not limited to:
Forest Grove, Banks, Cornelius, Gaston, Gales Creek, Hillsboro, North Plains, and Beaverton. All company members perform in all four of the current winter Nutcracker performances and are eligible to perform in the spring Young Choreographers Showcase. Other local non-company students are invited per policy, to participate in limited parts of the winter Nutcracker performances due to age and ability of the students.
